Ipazia Productions Presents the European Premiere of FATHER

We are delighted to announce that European theatre company Ipazia Production will present a European premiere of Father as part of our spring season- a one-woman play written and performed by internationally-acclaimed Italian writer, actor and director Francesca Bartellini and directed by Susan Worsfold (The Gospel According to Jesus Queen of Heaven).

Father is a true story of sexual abuse perpetrated by a father on his daughter. On stage a middle-aged woman reveals her daughter's terrible secret which only surfaces as the daughter becomes a young woman. The truth unfolds little by little. On stage the mother is also her daughter and the voice of the father remains off stage. But the father has his own secret hidden in his childhood...

Three presences, three lives interconnected by abuse on different levels but only one physical presence on stage. The father is a well-known meteorologist who is aware of climate change. He wants to save the Earth: he believes Man is the cause of the disaster, therefore Man should be the solution.

The show will feature costume design by designers Sartoria Farani known worldwide for collaborating with the late three-times Oscar winner Danilo Donati (a dear friend of Francesca Bartellini) on the films of Pasolini and Fellini.

Writer & performer Francesca Bartellini:

"The idea of this play was born after a long conversation with a woman, who is now a great friend of mine, a year and half ago. Immediately the story of this abuse appeared to me as a play. The metaphor which comes out of it is extremely powerful and so topical for the situation of our planet: use and abuse."

Running Time: 1 hr. approx.

Box Office: Tickets are available from www.tron.co.uk. Tickets £11 (£8.50 concession).
