EDINBURGH 2018: Review: ANNA MORRIS: BOMBASTIC, Voodoo Rooms

Bombastic is described as a 'best of' from character comedian Anna Morris's sell-out solo shows from 2012-2017. Four of her favourite characters take on new material and their stories are tied together in this slick new hour.

What is particularly impressive is the variety of each character. All four have distinctly different accents, mannerisms and personalities and Morris never breaks character. Each character inhabits their own world and these are all brought to life really quickly with great skill.

Perhaps her biggest character, Georgina Francis is Britain's biggest Bridezilla. Ridiculously posh with very firm views on how people "should" be getting married, Georgina is perhaps the most delightfully unlikeable character I've ever encountered in a show.

One of my particular favourites was Taylor Tyler, Australian Youtuber and Instagram icon. Bombastic delivers big laughs but also has an interesting commentary on influencer culture and obsession with beauty products.

Bombastic involves some audience interaction and participation but its all done in good humour and the particular gentlemen chosen were definitely up for being involved.

This show is part of the free fringe (well, it's free to get in but you have to pay to get out..!) so I'd advise getting there early to guarantee a seat!
