Tell us a bit about The Tales of Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddle-Duck.

The amazing thing about this show is that you don't really need to ask what is it. People worldwide of all ages are so familiar with the stories and the beauty of Beatrix Potter's tales that the title alone opens your mind to a whole world of childhood memories.

Our concert is in collaboration with the Children's Classic Concerts who are providing the wonderful orchestra for the show. Michelle Todd will take the audience on a journey through the timeless stories of Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddle-Duck using some wonderful new orchestrations by Stephen McNeff, based on his original score.

Who is it aimed at?

I think this is one of the only children's shows which will get just as good a reaction from the parents as the children. Any mum, dad, auntie, uncle or grandparent that steps into the show will relive the stories that they were undoubtedly told as children and enjoy it together with no generational gap.

Why bring it to Edinburgh?

Edinburgh Fringe is like no other festival. The opportunity to perform the show 24 times within the space of four weeks to 10,000 people is incredible, and such a beautiful, characterful venue like The Beauty at the Underbelly Circus Hub just enhances the experience for the audience.

What sets it apart from other children's shows at the Fringe?

In the age of the internet where children are growing up quicker than ever, it's important to keep these beautiful stories alive with the simplicity and timelessness of narration and classical music. We won't talk down to children in silly, squeaky voices in an attempt to engage them, the audiences that see The Tales of Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddle-Duck will be treated as the intelligent and understanding young people they are and will all get lost in the magic of Beatrix Potter's words.

What's in it for the adults?

Rather than loud bangs and fart noises, adults can enjoy an hour of expertly written and performed music whilst reminiscing about the first time they were told these stories as children.

Timings and ticket information for The Tales of Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddle-Duck are available on the edfringe website.
