Tell us a bit about The Marriage of Kim K.

It's actually a bit like Gogglebox (well except it's a musical: you're watching an actual (like, for real) couple argue about what to watch on TV: Keeping up with the Kardashians, or Mozart's Marriage of Figaro?

The result is you have three different worlds on stage, and three different genres of music - it's a bit like being on a crazy Spotify playlist and pressing shuffle. As they watch the carcrash of the relationships they're watching, they find themselves asking whether they themselves are too different for each other.

What was the inspiration behind the show?

Honestly? Just trying to do something different and creative to a genre - opera - which tends to be so imitative and pretentious. We began just by rewriting the words of the original opera. Then realised we could tinker with the music. Then that we could rewrite the music. And following it to it's logical conclusion we've come out with this.. this.. THING which is world-jumping, genre-bending - and hopefully jaw-dropping to watch.

Why bring it to the Fringe?

Wild crazy wild things belong at the Fringe?

Beyond the intrigue of the premise - how exactly can you pull of a Mozart opera and a Kardashian at the same time?!? - I don't think there's a musical quite like it, which flies through so many worlds, genres, emotions so quickly - that 75 minute slot FLIES by.

Who would you recommend comes to see it?

- Music-lovers! If you're the person who says "I like a bit of everything" when someone asks you what music you like, this is for you - it weaves a huge number of genres, with a billion pop music quotations integrated with large sections of Mozart opera in a way which has to be heard to be believed. And if you like catchy tunes, this show has roughly 256473 of them.

- Reality-TV lovers. What's after reality TV? Reality theatre! The couple arguing about what to watch are a real-life couple, playing themselves, with a story drawing upon their own.

Are there any other shows you're hoping to catch at the festival?

We have our eyes on Edison, who sound almost as wild as us, and also How to Win Against History, which has sounded intriguing since we first came across it.
