Tell us a bit about The First Hippo on the Moon.

The First Hippo On The Moon tells the story of Sheila, a hippo that lives in the jungle but dreams of being the first hippo on the moon! However a rival hippo, Hercules Waldorf Franklin III also has plans to travel to the moon and so a hippo-sized space race begins...but who will get there first?

Why bring it to Edinburgh?

The First Hippo On The Moon has been touring since January around the UK and internationally and we thought Edinburgh was the perfect way for Sheila and the gang to say goodbye (for now!) to the UK. Plus we couldn't stay away from the Fringe...could we?!

What sets it apart from other children's shows at the Fringe?

There are a lot of shows for children at the Fringe, especially this year. Bit what we bring is our inimitable and anarchic style of story-telling, musical madness and puppetry that Les Petits have become famous for from our other shows like last year's Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs 2. The First Hippo On The Moon has direction, design and performance from some of the finest talents the UK has to offer!

Who would you recommend comes to see you?

The First Hippo On The Moon is a show that everyone from ages 3+ can enjoy.

What's in it for the adults?

Well there is a ton of poo jokes, literally, and plenty of gags and songs and references for the adults to enjoy. David Williams has a very irreverent sense of humour and we hope we capture that.

Timings and ticket information for The First Hippo On The Moon are available on the edfringe website.
