Tell us a bit about your show

The world's going crazy, and nothing is reasonable anymore, and we're all getting old, and we're going to die. But, fortunately, there's plenty of reasons to laugh-your-arse-off. Laughing is good. You have to laugh.

Sometimes your life can get really shitty. You have the worst flat-out losing streak ever; it goes on and on, then, just when you can't take it anymore, at your darkest moment, waiting for the proverbial straw to 'break the camel's back', it falls on you: that one last straw - plus five more tons of straw, and another camel... and some shit. You break. You start laughing.

Okay, it's a weird, twitchy, half-weeping laugh your friends find disturbing. Your eyes are red and there's a snot-bubble like a croaking tree frog, but it's laughter and it counts.

My show=that.

Why bring it to Edinburgh?

I've been coming since 2004. There's been plenty of crushing defeat and despair. Plenty of wondering what's the point, when most of the audience don't get me. But after all these years, I do actually have a following. A rare and dedicated one. I recognise them here and there in the audience. They're a small, dark-hearted little band of stragglers, and they're all I have.

What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?

There's no heart-warming lesson.

Who would you recommend comes to see your show?

Oh, I don't know... do you like wearing black? Crow tattoos? Nick Cave? Okay, just re-read my answer to question one: you'll know.

Are there any other performances you're hoping to catch at the festival?

Tiff Stevenson: Bombshell, and Robert White: InstruMental.

Timings and ticket information for Stuart Black: It's The End Of The World As We Know It are available on the edfringe website.
