Tell us a bit about Bright Lights, Big City Impro.
The concept was created after a highly successful Brighton Fringe run where we had a fairground theme. We wanted to focus on the performance side of comedy and how even the greatest comediennes struggle to make it.
In Bright Lights, Big City Impro, the troupe are desperately trying to make it in the Bright Lights of the Edinburgh Festival with their agent who acts as the host of the show- ultimately it is down to whether our audience each day are impressed enough!
By spinning our Improv Wheel of Games no-one knows what is going to come next and everyone has to really be invested in every part of the show. It is well and truly made up improv!
Why bring it to Edinburgh?
Apart from Edinburgh being every comedienne & performer's dream?!!
As a group we wanted to take advantage of this incredible opportunity to bring a brand new short-form, fast paced improv comedy show to the circuit and to reach out to people who have never come across improv before as well as to those who are aficionados.
How much can you prepare for an improvised show?
We always warm up before a show so that we are working together as a team. And we also rehearse how to introduce and explain the games so there are clear and concise.
We are fortunate to have worked with several great coaches who have helped us a group and as individuals, apart from that it is trusting each other when on stage and going with whatever is put out there!

What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?
Our concept of office workers (we all have day jobs) breaking free form our desks to try to make it away from that small town London all whilst having a ridiculous amount of fun and taking the audience along with us.
And as a group we believe we are really strong and work well together which was proved at Brighton Festival this and last year ("Masters of improvisation" - RemoteGoat) and at Camden Festival over the last 3 years (voted best late night fringe show)

Who would you recommend comes to see you?
Everyone aged 8 upwards! We had heaps of families come and see us in Brighton and have a regular student crowd at our residency gigs in London.
Even my Dad was impressed and he's ancient!!
