Tell us a bit about Aside Effect
The show is an effort to untangle the triggers to a defensive and fear ridden life that is somehow a mystery to Winter. His upbringing and what too much time alone can lead to. Propelling himself through jobs and relationships through sheer force of will; when a gift disrupts his bubble that maybe he's not really in control after all.
Why bring it to Edinburgh?
Edinburgh is the biggest trade fair for performance artists in the world, what better place to present it. I'm really proud of this show. I've spent the last 5years honing my craft and this is the right place for this type of storytelling show (of course with jokes).
What it apart from other shows at the Fringe?
I'm half Irish and half Sri-Lankan, this gives me a unique perspective growing up in Ireland.
Who would you recommend comes to see you?
People who are in jobs they hate, have control issues & find themselves in situations that mysteriously escalate.
Tell us a little about the elephant collection.
I was given an elephant statue as child, subsequently things got out of hand. 49 elephant statues later (and a giraffe from a relative who didn't get the memo),
They served as a constant reminder that I would never be one of the herd.
