Tell us a bit about Bitchelors.
Bitchelors is a multi-character comedy show set at a fictional Woman of the Year Awards. I play the host (last year's winner, Georgina Francis, Britain's Biggest Bridezilla) and all four contestants. The audience become the judges! Each contestant has ten minutes to persuade them to vote, and at the end the winner is voted for by the audience. We have four completely different endings prepared to match whoever they vote for.
The characters are all very different and explore themes about being a woman in 2017, trying to have it all - at any cost. They all have a dark and dangerous side... beware!
There's a Mumtrepreneur who uses her children as weights to work out with, a domestic goddess with a very dark secret, an ultra glamorous and deadly foreign correspondent and an anti-marriage activist. Plus your host, who is in the middle of a breakdown and struggling to hold it together...
Why bring it to Edinburgh?
My previous show It's Got to be Perfect was a big success at the Fringe, two years in a row and won Best Show 2016 last year in the Funny Women Awards. I was offered the same slot in the fabulous ballroom in the Voodoo Rooms again and snapped it up - it's perfect for my awards ceremony premise. I wanted audiences from the last two years to come and see what has happened to Georgina (star of the last show, and now host of this show) and meet my four other characters. I also wanted to continue to entertain and meet new audiences!
What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?
All of my shows put the audience at the centre of the experience. They get an important role - to be judges (last year they became wedding guests and helped design a wedding). They get to vote, take control and ultimately decide how it ends. The show has a character for everyone, it's fast paced and fun, with songs, twists and surprises. It's also FREE (donations on exit!)!?
Who would you recommend comes to see you?
My audience demographic is always really varied and people of all ages enjoy my show. You don't have to have seen last year's show to enjoy it - the story is self contained.
And is there anyone you would recommend maybe doesn't?
The venue is 18+ only. Apart from that, I think anyone would enjoy this show!
