Dating, Tinder and having a quarter-life crisis is is a definite theme at this year's Edinburgh Fringe. Opening with a not too smooth mash-up of "You Can't Hurry Love" and "Crazy In Love" the very enthusiastic Megan Juniper takes us through her recent dating experiences.

After trying various other dating websites and failing to find love, Juniper turns to Tinder. Tinder is the dating app that allows you to be shallow. Based on a picture, you can decide whether to swipe left and and reject a potential suitor or swipe right and strike up a conversation if he does the same. Juniper describes what each person's profile picture says about them and talks about some of the messages she has received from men on the app. Interspersed with lines from romantic comedies, it is a stark contrast from the likes of Clark Gable, e.g. "You seem to be into music - what are your thoughts on bondage?".

I liked some of the song selections for Love Me Tinder. After having seen a number of similar style shows at the festival, I am Beyoncé-d out, and really enjoyed hearing Tori Amos's "Leather" alongside Taylor Swift's "Blank Space". However, the mash-ups of other songs don't really work and some of the music has been shoehorned into the set.

Megan Juniper is a good host for the evening and an enthusiastic performer. Some of the comedy material is passable but for a cabaret show, the music just isn't up to scratch.

Love Me Tinder Cabaret runs at The Space until 27 August.
