Promising to be a "song and dance extravaganza" Puttin' on the Ritz is a celebration of the Golden Age Of Hollywood. Featuring music from George Gershwin, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter and dancers from Strictly Come Dancing, it promises to be a very entertaining evening.

The tour has different leading performers for each venue. For some of the shows it has established singers but for the Glasgow dates the stars of the show were Kristina and Robin from Strictly Come Dancing. Their performance was incredible and Kristina made dance moves that looked somewhat painful, seem effortless. Unfortunately a few of the audience members seemed to think they were watching on the BBC from their living room as they kept up the chatter for most of the show which was mildly distracting.

The songs are classic and it would be hard to go wrong with the tracklisting that they had. Songs featured include Let's Face The Music and Dance, Anything Goes and There's No Business Like Show Business to name but a few. The vocals were pleasant enough but there was nobody that I would single out as an outstanding singer.

The selling point of Putting On The Ritz is the whole spectacle of the group dance sequences and stunning costumes. I can't say that this was the most exciting night I have ever had in a theatre but it was an enjoyable evening. The audience seemed to have a ball and you can't deny that it was worth the ticket price.
