Kira Hawkridge Named New Epic Associate Artistic Director

Epic Theatre has announced that Kira Hawkridge, Artistic Director of Out Loud Theatre, will now be Epic Theatre's Associate Artistic Director.

"I realize it's a little unconventional to have the Artistic Director of one theater become the Associate Artistic Director of another," said Epic Theatre's AD Kevin Broccoli, "But we talk a lot in this community about collaboration and the benefits of having companies overlap their talent. For me, having Kira take on this position at Epic is a chance to fully realize the potential of having artists share their gifts with other theater companies. I'm a great admirer of Kira's work, and she'll continue to produce stellar theater with Out Loud, while contributing her ideas and influence to Epic's upcoming season. After seeing the work she's done at Out Loud and the work she's done for Epic as a guest director, I couldn't be happier to bring her onboard full-time."

Hawkridge is currently directing "Orlando" for Epic, a gender-bending romantic fantasy, which opens next week and closes out the theater's 2014 - 2015 Season.
