About the album
Nominated for seven Tony Awards when it debuted in 1958, West Side Story is a Romeo and Juliet story set in 1950's New York City. Although it lost the Tony Award for best musical to A Music Man, the show ran for two years on Broadway and became a movie in 1961 starring Natalie Wood.
