This summer, the bears are back with an exciting new twist—Nashville-style Disney tunes inspired by various genres of country music including Americana, bluegrass, pop-country, rockabilly and more!

Composer Richard M. Sherman passed away at 95 due to age-related illness at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, on Saturday, May 25th.

Broadway World went on a hunt for the bare necessities when we traveled to Sheridan to see The Grant County Theater’s presentation of THE JUNGLE BOOK Friday, May 10, but instead found all sorts of wild thespians taking the stage. Written by Joseph Robinette and based on the book by Rudyard Kipling, this play was not exactly like the Disney version, but it still had a lot of the familiar characters.  It was a packed house, and rightfully so. This theater grabs you when you walk into the door.  

Hennepin Theatre Trust has announced that on May 21, 2024 at 5 p.m., approximately 300 elementary students from the Twin Cities as part of Disney Musicals in Schools will have the opportunity to sing and dance on the historic Pantages Theatre stage as the result of a grant awarded to the Trust by Disney.

The Kravis Center recently hosted its 4th annual Disney Musicals in Schools Student Share Celebration, an initiative that develops sustainable musical theater programs in under-resourced elementary schools in Palm Beach County.

The first film has a tentative title of The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum and will be directed by the Gollum actor, who will also reprise his iconic role from the earlier installments. The film is planned for a 2026 release, with the team already in the early stages of development on the screenplay. Peter Jackson will also return to the franchise as producer alongside Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens.

The San Francisco Symphony has announced programming for its summer season, running July 4–August 4 with concerts at Davies Symphony Hall and outdoor performances at Stanford Live’s Frost Amphitheater, Shoreline Amphitheatre, and Sigmund Stern Grove.
