About the album
“Kidding on the Square,” directed by Sarna Lapine, is a vintage cabaret with a distinctly modern edge. Jonathan Mastro, composer of the hit NY revival of "Our Town," musical directs and accompanies on the piano. From the classic hits of the 1920's and 30's to surprising retakes on modern pop, Ms. Bergl does it all. The show runs the gamut from playful to tearful, and from naughty to nice, blending artists from Noel Coward and Fats Waller to Madonna and Lily Allen.
