Civic Theatre of Allentown's 514Works Presents BROADWAY BROOMSTICKS 10/30-31

By:

Civic Theatre of Allentown's 514Works project, in association with Dark Horse Productions, presents an original musical revue, Broadway Broomsticks, at 8pm on October 30th and 31st in Civic's Theatre514. Broadway Broomsticks, the brainchild of Dark Horse Artistic Director Robert CAllan Adams, is a benefit for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Fund; all tickets will be $20, all of which will be given to the fund.

Adams has put together a revue that celebrates popular witches and other ghostly characters from Broadway and cinema history. Adams promises that audiences will "be entertained and more importantly will be helping and supporting a really good cause. And you don't want to upset these ladies! They may turn you into a dog, or a stone, or a chair!"

The ladies Adams refers to include Lehigh Valley stage veterans such as JoAnn Wilchek Basist, Traci Ceschin, Melissa Egan, Lynn Hunsberger, Lynn Flickinger, Sharon Lee Glassman, Deena Linn, Nichi McFarlane, Lori Sivick, Marie Ann Sutera, Jeni Lynn Toner and Kate Varley. They'll portray characters adapted from such stage and screen musicals as Pippin, The Little Mermaid, Wicked, Into the Woods, Sleeping Beauty and The Jungle Book.

Civic's blackbox Theatre514 has hosted a handful of small-scale productions of newer plays, cabaret nights and performances by the Associated Mess Improv Comedy Troupe throughout 2010, all as part of the 514Works project, designed to bring innovative entertainment to the Lehigh Valley.

Information on advance tickets is available by calling 610.432.8943; please note that tickets for 514Works Productions are not sold online.
