Signature Theatre presents the world premiere production Mrs. Miller Does Her Thing, written and directed by Pulitzer Prize winner James Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods). This new play based on the real-life story of Elva Miller, a middle-aged housewife who gained notoriety as an unlikely pop phenomenon in the 1960s for her warbling renditions of chart topping hits 'Downtown,' 'Monday, Monday,' 'A Hard Day's Night,' and more runs now through March 26 in Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre. 'Jersey Christmas' is a brand spankin' new holiday classic. It's the pop/rock creation of New Jersey native singer/songwriter/actor Ben Rauch, who performs lead vocals and composed the music for the song which he co-wrote with songwriter Gaby Gold. The music video was shot entirely on location in New Jersey, and features Jersey Shore beaches along with the Asbury Park landmark 'The Stone Pony' (the historic rock club known for launching the careers of Jersey heroes Springsteen & Bon Jovi). 25 years after the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical production of Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic children's story The Secret Garden, the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) and the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle co-presents the timeless tale from November 15-December 31 at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW).
