Previews begin tomorrow night, Saturday, March 8, for the return to Broadway of Tony Award-winner and two-time Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington, starring as Walter Lee Younger in Lorraine Hansberry's A RAISIN IN THE SUN. This new production begins previews nearly 55 years to the day that A RAISIN IN THE SUN had its Broadway premiere (March 11, 1959) at the same theatre, the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). At the 2014 Academy Awards U2 performed their song 'Ordinary Love' from the movie MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM. The song earned them a Best Original Song nomination. The band's Bono and The Edge co-wrote the music for Broadway's SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK. They did not receive any Tony nominations for that show.

In this second installment, New York Post columnist Michael Riedel, who has vocally been rooting against the production (which grossed more than $1.4 million last week) since the very beginning, reads a passage about himself.

The Airborne Toxic Event has released a lyric video for Hell and Back on VEVO. The song is an original track featured on the Dallas Buyers Club Soundtrack, released last week by Relativity Music Group. Watch drag queens, William Belli and Porsha Hayy steal the show as they belt it out in the newly released lyric video for Hell and Back.

SPIDER-MAN co-book writer Glen Berger has written a 'tell-all' book about the behind-the-scenes battle that took place during the development of the Broadway musical SPIDER-MAN TURN OFF THE DARK. Titled 'The Song of Spider-Man: The Inside Story of the Most Controversial Musical in Broadway History', the book will hit shelves on November 5th from Simon & Schuster Publishing. With the recent rumors that rocker Alice Cooper is in negotiations to take on the role of supervillain the Green Goblin in Broadway's SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK, you might be wondering what 'The Godfather of Shock Rock' would sound like singing on Broadway. It turns out that Cooper recorded a version of 'King Herod's Song' for the 1996 studio recording of Andrew Lloyd Webber's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. He was not part of the original 1996 London stage cast but was brought in just to sing the tune. Listen below!

This past weekend, Spider-Man helped celebrate fathers by offering a special Father's Day promotion- for those who swung by SPIDER-MAN and purchased one full price Orchestra or Flying Circle ticket, dad got his ticket for free. Today in 2011, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark opened at the Foxwoods Theatre, where it is still running. Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is a rock musical with music and lyrics by U2's Bono and The Edge and a book by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. The musical is based on the Spider-Man comics created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, published by Marvel Comics, as well as the 2002 film about the character and the Greek myth of Arachne. lt tells the story of the origin of the character, his romance with Mary Jane and his battles with the evil Green Goblin.
