Jerry Zaks knew he had a busy year ahead when 2020 began. The four-time Tony winner started the year in rehearsals for Mrs. Doubtfire, which began previews at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on March 9. Of course, plans changed when Broadway shut down on March 13, leaving an unsure future for the musical, as well as Zaks' next project, the fall revival of The Music Man.
Alan Alda is best known for playing Hawkeye Pierce and writing many of the episodes on the classic TV series M*A*S*H, the final episode of which was seen by more than 105 million people, still a record audience.
From January 12th-21st, North Carolina Theatre will be presenting A.R. Gurney's LOVE LETTERS at the A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater. I recently had the great pleasure of stopping by rehearsal to interview the stars of this production, two-time Emmy nominee Sandy Duncan and Ira David Wood III.
