Independent Shakespeare Co.'s MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING Opens Tonight

This summer, visit the idyllic Mediterranean countryside as INDEPENDENT SHAKESPEARE CO. brings you to the end of WWII as it presents its take one of Shakespeare's most loved comedies, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, directed by Jeffrey Wienckowski. MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING began previews at THE GRIFFITH PARK FREE SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL on Thursday, July 30 and will open tonight, August 8 at 7:00pm and perform through Sunday, August 30 at Old Zoo in Griffith Park.

ISC is the 2015 recipient of the LA Drama Critics Circle's highest honor, the Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in theater, and a 2015 recipient of a grant award from the National Endowment for the Arts.

'Faith: Part One of a Mexican Trilogy,' a World Premiere engagement of a new play by Evelina Fernandez, will be directed by Jose Luis Valenzuela and presented by The Latino Theater Company at the Los Angeles Theatre Center (in Theatre 3, 514 S. Spring St., Los Angeles, Calif.). The production opens Friday, October 19, 2012 at 8 p.m., runs through Sunday, November 11.

Company of Angels' L.A VIEWS: APRIL 29, 1992 Begins Previews

L.A Views V: April 29, 1992 features 8 short plays set in the 1992 Los Angeles Civil Unrest that followed the exoneration of four LAPD officers involved in the Rodney King beating. The unrest sparked widespread looting, assault, and arson. In all, 53 people died, thousands more were injured, and property damage topped 1 billion dollars. Twenty years later, these plays dig through the City's ashes and offer accounts of a time whose impact on Angelenos is still being assessed. From business owners to looters, newscasters to people trapped in the darkness of it all, a diversity of perspectives shed light on the legacy of 4/29/92.
