The New England Foundation for the Arts has awarded $1,790,000 through the National Dance Project (NDP) to support the creation of 20 new dance works that will tour the United States.

Cornerstone Theater Company is pleased to present the premiere of a new play, Utopia Parkway (working title) in Queens, New York this summer. OPERA America, the national service organization for opera and the nation's leading champion for American opera, is pleased to announce the latest recipients of Commissioning Grants from the Opera Grants for Female Composers program, made possible through the generosity of the Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation.

Freeform announced today that principal photography began yesterday on the 'Motherland' (working title) pilot, a one-hour drama from executive producers Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Kevin Messick. The pilot, created by Eliot Laurence ('Claws'), has started in Vancouver, Canada. Set in an alternate America where witches ended their persecution 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the U.S. government to fight for their country, 'Motherland' (working title) follows three young women from basic training in combat magic into early deployment at Fort Salem.

Paramount Network Orders 68 WHISKEY Pilot Produced and Directed by Ron Howard

SHOWTIME has ordered a new pilot NOW WHAT WITH AMANDA DE CADENET (working title), for a half-hour weekly news-magazine format created and hosted by Amanda de Cadenet (The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet). The show takes a thematic approach exploring America's current social, sexual, cultural and political issues, seen through de Cadenet's sharp, feminist lens. Emmy® nominee Inuka Bacote (Eastsiders), and Danielle Oexmann (Vice Does America) will serve as co-showrunners. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine, President of Programming, Showtime Networks.

Nickelodeon today announced it has greenlit 20 episodes of Los Casagrandes (working title), a spinoff of animated hit The Loud House. Los Casagrandes follows Lincoln Loud's friend Ronnie Anne and her extended family, the Casagrandes, living together in the big city and exploring the endless possibilities urban life has to offer. The greenlight comes on the heels of a successful premiere week of The Loud House, ranking as the number one show across television with Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11 (6/25/18-6/28/18).

TNT Renews Juggernaut Dramas ANIMAL KINGDOM and CLAWS

Interrobang Theatre Project is pleased to announce its ninth season, featuring three knockout dramas presented at its new resident home, Rivendell Theatre, 5779 N. Ridge Ave. in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood. This season, Interrobang explores "identity/crisis," with three plays featuring characters on the edge of something new, battling old demons and making room for fresh starts.

Halo, the award-winning and record-shattering series of video games, is bringing its universe to SHOWTIME. The network has ordered a 10-episode season of the live-action, scripted drama HALO (working title), based on the hallowed Xbox® franchise, with Kyle Killen (Awake) serving as executive producer, writer and showrunner. Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) will direct multiple episodes and also executive produce the hour-long series. Produced by SHOWTIME in association with Microsoft/343 Industries, along with Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television, HALO will begin production in early 2019. The announcement was made today by David Nevins, President and CEO, Showtime Networks Inc.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' Yellow Submarine, the Drexel Theatre will present a special screening of the classic 1968 animated feature film on July 12. Now restored in full 4K digital resolution, this timeless icon of psychedelic pop culture combined the pioneering animation techniques of the time with dazzling visual invention, witty dialogue, and of course, glorious music, including "Eleanor Rigby," "When I'm Sixty-Four," "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," "All You Need Is Love," and "It's All Too Much.'

MTV today announced the launch of MTV Studios, a new unit focused on developing new series and re-imaginations of its most iconic hits for partners across SVOD and Linear. The University of New Haven today announced that Richard Wormser, adjunct professor of forensic science, has received $50,000 in grants from investors to develop a documentary whose working title is 'Saving Babies and Mothers.'
