Cast Complete for Rachel Weisz-Led Revival of PLENTY at The Public

The Public Theater announced complete casting today for the first major New York revival of David Hare's PLENTY. Directed by five-time Tony Award nominee David Leveaux and featuring the previously announced Rachel Weisz and Corey Stoll, the show will begin previews on Tuesday, October 4 and run through Sunday, November 6, with an official press opening on Thursday, October 20.

Michael Urie and Robin De Jesus to Star in HOMOS, OR EVERYONE IN AMERICA World Premiere

Labyrinth Theater Company presents the world premiere of Homos, Or Everyone in American (October 20-November 27) by Jordan Seavey. Homos, Or Everyone in American, directed by Mike Donahue and featuring two-time Tony nominee Robin De Jesus (In The Heights, La Cage Aux Folles) and Drama Desk Award winner Michael Urie (Buyer and Cellar, Ugly Betty, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), is a bitingly tender new play about trying to live and love in New York.

The Drama Book Shop is pleased to welcome producers Tom Kirdahy and Devlin Elliott for a discussion about the new off-Broadway sensation White Rabbit Red Rabbit. Playwright Nassim Soleimanpour will Skype into the conversation. The event, which is free to the public, will take place on Today, August 24th at 5:00PM.

Playwrights Horizons has announced complete casting for A LIFE, the world premiere of a new play by Obie Award winner Adam Bock (A Small Fire and The Drunken City at Playwrights, The Receptionist, The Thugs, Swimming in the Shallows). Directed by two-time Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (Marjorie Prime, Detroit, Maple and Vine at Playwrights; You Got Older; Belleville; This Wide Night; Smokefall), A LIFE will be the second production of the theater company's 2016/2017 Season.

Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards Announce 2016 Recipients

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, is pleased to announce the recipients of the first round of the 2016 Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards. The awards, totaling $580,000, allow 15 productions extra time in the development and rehearsal of new plays with the entire creative team, helping to extend the life of the play after its first run. Two more rounds of recipients will be announced later this year.
