The Theatre Royal Bath Summer Season 2013 offers a season of new in-house productions including Noel Coward's Relative Values, directed by Trevor Nunn and starring Patricia Hodge, Caroline Quentin and Rory Bremner; Candida by Bernard Shaw, directed by Simon Godwin; King Lear directed by Lucy Bailey and starring David Haig; and Feydeau's A Little Hotel on the Side, adapted by John Mortimer and directed by Lindsay Posner and Cal McCrystal.

The Broadway production of End of the Rainbow, written by Peter Quilter and directed by Tony Award winner Terry Johnson, will play its final performance today, Sunday, August 19, 2012. The production, which began performances on Monday, March 19 of this year and opened on Monday, April 2, will have played a total of 176 performances at Broadway's Belasco Theatre. If energy and physical commitment equaled craft and technique, Tracie Bennett's performance as Judy Garland in End Of The Rainbow might be considered one of the great triumphs of the season. But Peter Quilter's flimsy play offers her little in the way of support and director Terry Johnson has her playing more highly strung caricature than character, reducing the enterprise to little more than an endurance test for those at both sides of the footlights.
