Portland Stage Will Stage the World Premiere of REFUGE MALJA

Portland Stage will stage the World Premiere of Refuge Malja by Bess Welden with Arabic Translation by Ali Al-Mshakheel begins Oct 30 through Nov 18, opens for reviewers Friday Nov 2, 2018. When a Jewish-American war photographer feels compelled to assist a young refugee who steps in front of her camera, she calls an old friend to translate but hesitates to reveal why she is so drawn to the boy. This poetic, decade-spanning drama explores how we each define and find our own malja (refuge). Affiliate Artist Bess Welden's Refuge Malja was developed as part of the 2017 Little Festival of the Unexpected and was subsequently workshopped in the Studio Series in January of 2018. Refuge Malja is made possible with support from the Maine Humanities Council and the Maine Arts Commission.

Christine Ebersole Will Perform at WPPAC's 15th Anniversary Gala

Aquila Theatre Company To Perform At WPPAC

The White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC) is proud to announce that the acclaimed classic theatre company, Aquila Theatre Company will be presenting Mary Shelley's FRANKENSTEIN and William Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM on September 21, 22 & 25.

American Bard Theater Company Presents the NYC Premiere of YOU WOULDN'T EXPECT

American Bard Theater Company presents the New York City premiere of You Wouldn't Expect, a play written by Marilynn Barner Anselmi examining the staggering truths about the coercive influence of the government-sponsored eugenics program and its direct focus on poverty and race. Cezar Williams directs a cast of eight, including Cherie Danielle, Adiagha Faizah, Carl Fisk, Erin Gilbreth*, Ross G. Hewitt, Malikha Mallette, Okema T Moore*, and Atiya Yanique Taylor. Fifteen performances will be staged at The Chain Theater, 312 West 36th Street in New York City, from September 19-October 7, 2018.

WPPAC Stage 2 Announces ASL Interpreted Performance of CABARET

Stage 2 at the White Plains Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce that the August 11 performance of the musical, CABARET, will be ASL Interpreted. Two interpreters will translate the musical's spoken words into American Sign Language.

White Plains Performing Arts Center 15th Anniversary Mainstage Season Announced!

White Plains Performing Arts Center is proud to announce its 15th Anniversary Mainstage Season.  WPPAC begins the 15th Season in October with the New York Regional Premiere of FUN HOME; followed in December by the timeless family favorite DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and the season will conclude in April with another New York Regional Premiere, THE BODYGUARD based on the 1992 hit movie and featuring the music of Whitney Houston.
