The world's most magical musical arrives at The Civic, Auckland this October. Based on the beloved books by P.L. Travers and the 1964 Walt Disney film, the multi-award winning musical MARY POPPINS will play The Civic, Auckland for a strictly limited season.

Boston Baroque, America's first period-instrument orchestra, has announced its 2012-2013 concert season, running from tonight, October 19, 2012 to April 20, 2013. Music Director Martin Pearlman will conduct five programs of two performances each, taking place at New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall in Boston or at Sanders Theatre at Harvard University in Cambridge. Highlights of the season will include a rarely-performed Handel comic opera, Partenope; Haydn's "Lord Nelson" Mass, which is slated to be recorded for later release on CD; Handel's Messiah at the holidays; and concerts that feature members of the orchestra and chorus in small ensemble and solo roles.

British conductor Daniel Harding returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall for the first time since 2004 to lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic in three performances, Friday, October 26, at 11 am, Saturday, October 27, at 8 pm, and Sunday, October 28, at 2 pm. The program opens with Korngold's Violin Concerto featuring one of today's most outstanding violinists, Renaud Capucon, who made a celebrated recording of the piece for Virgin Classics in 2009. The concert closes with Mahler's emotion-filled Fifth Symphony.

Next Theatre Company's second production of their 32nd season is the Midwest premiere of Welcome Home, Jenny Sutter by Julie Marie Myatt and directed by Jessica Thebus, at Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes Street. Previews are Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 16 and Saturday, Nov. 17 and 24 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 18 and 25 at 2 p.m. Opening night is Monday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m.

LA Phil Creative Chair John Adams leads the LA Phil New Music Group in the first Green Umbrella series concert of the 2012/13 season, tonight, October 16, at 8 pm, at Walt Disney Concert Hall. The concert features the works of two of today's hottest young composers, Nico Muhly and Daniel Bjarnason, both active in the Reykjavik, Iceland music scene and part of Bedroom Community, an Icelandic record label/collective formed in 2006.

Two titans of entertainment, NOW That's What I Call Music! and Walt Disney Records , have teamed up for the November 6 release of NOW That's What I Call Disney, a new album collection showcasing beloved music classics.

Disney XD will premiere two highly anticipated animated series on the Marvel Universe programming block, "Marvel's Avengers Assemble" and "Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.," it was announced today by David Levine, Vice President and General Manager, Disney XD Worldwide and at New York Comic Con by Jeph Loeb, Marvel's Head of Television. Produced by Marvel Television, the series feature some of Marvel's most popular characters -- Hulks smashing and Avengers assembling to take down the most infamous villains in the Marvel universe. Filled with action, big adventures and humor, both series are currently in production and slated to premiere in summer 2013 on Marvel Universe on Disney XD.

The premiere of Disney Channel's 'Girl Vs. Monster,' part of the Disney Channel Original Movie franchise, delivered 4.9 million Total Viewers on Friday (8:00 p.m.). The premiere also delivered 2.8 million Kids 2-11, 2.2 million Kids 6-11 and 1.9 million Tweens, ranking as Friday's #1 TV telecast across target kid demographics. "Girl Vs. Monster" built each half-hour, peaking with 5.6 million Total Viewers and 3.2 million Kids 2-11. The movie led into the strong debut of the sitcom 'Dog With a Blog' (9:40 p.m.), which delivered 4.5 million Total Viewers, 2.6 million Kids 2-11, 2.1 million Kids 6-11 and 1.7 million Tweens. Its regular timeslot premiere is Sunday, November 4 (8:00 p.m.).

Pianist Andras Schiff, as part of his two-year exploration of Bach's keyboard music comes to Walt Disney Concert Hall twice this month, Wednesday, October 17, at 8 pm, and Wednesday, October 24, at 8 pm. In the first engagement, he plays Book 1 of The Well-Tempered Clavier, in a Colburn Celebrity Recital. The following Wednesday, he tackles Book 2 in a Baroque Variations performance.

Marvel's Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.
