Following two sold-out and critically acclaimed productions, Theatre Exile ends their 18th season with Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at Plays and Players Theater (1714 Delancey Place). Pearce Bunting (Boardwalk Empire), Catharine Slusar, Emilie Krause and Jake Blouch take the stage in this cultural landmark that has been riveting audiences for over 50 years and ruthlessly tears down the facade of the American family. Previews begin on Thursday, April 16, 2015 and opening night is Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 8:00pm. The show runs for a total of 32 performances through Sunday, May 17, 2015. Food is a prism to look into love and sex, conflict and life in the six short plays of 'A la Carte: a Feast of New Plays,' to be presented by WorkShop Theater Company, 312 West 36th Street, from tonight, April 9 to May 2. Short works of various genres by Allan Knee, Dana Leslie Goldstein, Laurie Graff, Laura Hirschberg, Gary Giovanetti and Scott C. Sickles will be presented. Leslie Kincaid Burby directs the entire evening.
Folger Theatre & Capitol Riverfront BID to Celebrate Shakespeare Birthday with Film Screenings

Folger Theatre and the Capitol Riverfront BID celebrate Shakespeare's birthday this April with three free screenings of some of the most beloved film adaptations of the Bard. From April 24 through April 26, free screenings of Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing, Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet, and Franco Zeffirelli's The Taming of the Shrew will begin at sundown, between 7:30 and 8pm each night. Actors from Folger Theatre's production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (on stage May 12 through June 21) will be present to introduce the screenings and area vendors will be on hand to provide refreshments. Bard in the Yards represents an exciting collaboration between Folger Theatre and the Capitol Riverfront BID in a burgeoning area just south of Capitol Hill.

Live From Lincoln Center - the pioneering, award-winning performing arts series - continues its 40th anniversary season with another concert from Lincoln Center's American Songbook series, featuring Norm Lewis: Who Am I? (April 10 on PBS). Song selections include: 'Wouldn't It Be Loverly?' (Music by Frederick Loewe, lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner); 'I Got Plenty o' Nuttin' (Music by George Gershwin, lyrics by DuBose Heyward and Ira Gershwin); 'What's Going On' (Renaldo Benson, al Cleveland, and Marvin Gaye); and 'No One Is Alone' (Stephen Sondheim).
