Tennessee Shakespeare Company (TSC), the Mid-South's professional classical theatre, today announced its 2015-16 performance season, which commemorates the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death with a celebration of plays, readings, salons, feasts, and extensive programming for children.

The Pearl Theatre Company (Artistic Director, Hal Brooks) will begin its 2015-2016 season with Bedlam Theater Artistic Director Eric Tucker's fresh take on William Shakespeare's classic A Midsummer Night's Dream,following a highly successful engagement of the production at the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival this summer. The world's most famous vampire, a cigar-smoking man in a dress, and one of theatre's most loveable mutts can all be found this fall at the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Five of the Festival's six summer shows will be closing the first week of September; but Charley's Aunt will continue its summer run, along with two additional offerings, Dracula and The Two Gentlemen of Verona, through October 31.

Quintessence Theatre Group launches its sixth season of progressive classic theatre with Shakespeare's romantic tragedy ROMEO AND JULIET presented in rotating repertory with Wallace Shawn's celebrated translation of Machiavelli's sex comedy THE MANDRAKE. California Shakespeare Theater concludes its 2015 Main Stage season with King Lear, Shakespeare's most brilliant and profound tragedy, helmed by nationally-acclaimed director Amanda Dehnert, and featuring two-time Tony nominee and film star Anthony Heald (Silence of the Lambs, Broadway's The Elephant Man with Bradley Cooper) in the title role. Paterson Joseph's elegant one-man show Sancho - An Act of Remembrance, celebrating the extraordinary life of Charles Ignatius Sancho will receive its first full scale production this September at Birmingham Repertory Theatre prior to a tour in the USA that includes dates at BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.

Washington National Opera (WNO) opens its 2015-2016 season with a newto-Washington staging of Georges Bizet's popular classic Carmen, September 19 to October 3 in the Kennedy Center Opera House. Starring two French mezzo-sopranos-Clementine Margaine and Geraldine Chauvet- in the title role, this production also showcases two stars of flamenco dance, principal dancers Timo Nuñez (Fox's So You Think You Can Dance) and Fanny Ara. The production is staged by American director E. Loren Meeker and the WNO Orchestra is led by American conductor Evan Rogister. A special performance on Friday, October 2 features casting by current singers and alumni of WNO's Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program.

English Touring Theatre and Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse today announce the full cast for the world premiere of their co-production of The Odyssey: Missing Presumed Dead. The production reunites Simon Armitage and Nick Bagnall after their recent collaborations on The Last Days of Troy and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Nick Bagnall directs Lee Armstrong, Simon Dutton, Roger Evans, Polly Frame, David Hartley, Ranjit Krishnamma, Chris Reilly, Sule Rimi, Danusia Samal, Colin Tierney and Susie Trayling.

Producers Scott Rudin and Lincoln Center Theater have announced that actor Russell Tovey will play the role of Rodolpho in the Young Vic's critically-acclaimed production of Arthur Miller's A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE directed by Ivo van Hove, opening on Broadway this fall.  In addition, Richard Hansell, a member of the original Young Vic company, will reprise his role as Louis.
