The Theatre Project to Open Fifth Season with THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA
The Theatre Project and TP&co are proud to present the next installment of Shakespeare Off-Broadway with a Limited Off-Broadway Engagement of The Bard's classic comedy, The Two Gentlemen of Verona. Part of The Theatre Project's 5th Anniversary season, Shakespeare Off-Broadway is dedicated to the presentation of vital and imaginative productions of William Shakespeare's work. The Two Gentlemen of Verona will take the stage of the historic Players Theatre in the heart of Greenwich Village from September 10 through September 26, 2015.
The Two Gentlemen of Verona is the second Shakespearean production in The Theatre Project's Fifth Anniversary Season. Shakespeare's classic comedy, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, is possibly the Bard's earliest romantic comedy, and a story filled with love, adventure and farce. The tale centers on Valentine and Proteus, loyal friends who are transformed into enemies thanks to their fickle hearts. After traveling to Milan, Valentine falls in love with the Duke's daughter, Silvia. By chance or fate, Proteus also falls in love with her, forsaking the woman he left behind in Verona. It's the type of romantic mischief only Shakespeare could create!
The Two Gentlemen of Verona runs exclusively at The Players Theatre (115 Macdougal Street between West 3rd and Minetta Lane), with performances at 7:00PM every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and 3:00PM Sunday Matinees from September 10 through September 26, 2015.
