The eighth annual Mission Creek Festival returns April 2-7, 2013. The six-day event takes over music venues and art spaces in downtown Iowa City, creating a community-wide celebration of music, literature, and food.
To commemorate Woman's History Month, SHOWTIME will premiere WHY WE LAUGH: FUNNY WOMEN, an insightful documentary featuring personal in-depth interviews and live performance footage from some of the most prominent female voices in comedy and entertainment, on Thursday, March 21st at 8:00 PM (ET/PT). Narrated by legendary comic Joan Rivers, FUNNY WOMEN sheds light on the legacy of the female comedian and the dedication, courage and passion required to be successful in the male-dominated stand-up comedy business.

New acts scheduled to perform include supergroup Divine Fits, 30-piece punk marching band Mucca Pazza, rising metal group Pallbearer, and rock duo JEFF the Brotherhood. Other new additions are Mister Lies, Ital, Pete Swanson Future Rock, Pujol, Container, and Iowa-based artists Har-di-Har, Gloom Balloon, Mirror Coat, Ex-Action Model, No Coast, and Gem Jones.
