Dorset Theatre Festival continues its commitment to developing new plays with the World Premiere of Theresa Rebeck's The Way of the World, a contemporary retelling of the sardonic masterpiece by William Congreve.

The Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, the nation's premier short play competition, announces the 30 finalists for its 41st festival.  Chosen from 1,500 submissions from the U.S. and abroad, these 30 plays will be presented during a week-long festival August 9 - 14. All performances will take place at the East 13th Street Theater (Classic Stage Company).

Artistic Director Robert Lyons presents the 23rd annual OBIE Award-winning Ice Factory Festival. Ice Factory 2016 takes place at New Ohio Theatre, located at 154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets in New York City. Ice Factory 2016 will present seven new works over seven weeks, running from June 29 - August 13, 2016.

?Running July 8th through July 23rd, Dorset Theatre Festival is proud to present the Regional Premiere of Sarah Ruhl's acclaimed play Dear Elizabeth. Dear Elizabeth chronicles the unconventional and remarkable thirty-year friendship between two of the most honored American poets of the 20th century: Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell.

The Colorado Theatre Guild's 11th Annual Henry Awards will take place Monday, July 18, 2016 at the PACE Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Avenue in Parker, Colorado. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails and the awards ceremony will begin at 7 p.m., followed by an after-party. Tickets are $23 for CTG members (limit 2 per person online with the code Henry2016), $30 non-members or $50 VIP. Now through June 13, 2016, Nashville Repertory Theatre is accepting applications from playwrights for the 2016-17 Ingram New Works Lab. The Lab is one of three components of the Ingram New Works Project, the other two being the Ingram New Works Fellowship and the Ingram New Works Festival. The Project was launched by Nashville Rep in 2009 thanks to the generous support of Martha R. Ingram.

The 7th Annual Lilly Awards Ceremony, which celebrates women of distinction in the American Theater, were presented yesterday, May 23, at the Signature Theatre (480 West 42nd St). This year's honorees included: Tony Award-winner and 2016 Tony Award nominee Jessie Mueller,Kathy Najimy, Genne Murphy, Candis Jones,Rehana Lew Mirza, the women of Waking the Feminists, Danai Gurira, Martha Plimpton, Kate Whoriskey, and Mia Katigbak.

The National Foundation for the Arts, the Edgerton Foundation and the Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust have all awarded prestigious grants to the Dorset Theatre Festival this season in support of their New Play Development Program.

Continuing its commitment to developing new works, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will gather playwrights and composers from across the nation for its 2016 New Works Festival at Palo Alto's Lucie Stern Theatre, where the public can attend performances, participate in a panel discussion with the artists, and share in the journey of developing new works for the American theatre.
