Holiday Local Tradition AVENUE Q Returns to NCTC

This December, NCTC brings the holiday cheer with everyone's favorite foul-mouthed, feel-good musical: the return of NCTC's award-winning production of Avenue Q, with music, lyrics and original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marxand book by Jeff Whitty. Proclaimed by San Francisco Travel Magazine as "a local tradition," this "year-in, year-out hilarious, high-energy, and heart-warming production" (Theatre Eddys) won over critics and audiences alike in its previous engagements in NCTC's intimate Decker Theatre. Declares the San Francisco Examiner, "only the Grinch could prevent the laughter-filled show from selling out night after night."

Florida Studio Theatre Welcomes New Director of Individual Giving

Florida Studio Theatre is pleased to announce the appointment of Director of Individual Giving to Melody Mora-Shihadeh. In this role, she will provide leadership for FST's annual fundraising efforts. She will responsible for setting strategy and executing fundraising plans for sustaining and growing the number of annual donors to FST's diverse programming and special projects.

Central Works 2016 Season Concludes with INTO THE BEAUTIFUL NORTH

The Central Works 2016 Season closes with Into the Beautiful North, a new play by Karen Zacarias opening Today October 15 in the historic Berkeley City Club. This production marks CW's first partnership with the National New Play Network for this Rolling World Premiere. Into the Beautiful North is based on the novel by Pulitzer Prize finalist Luis Alberto Urrea and inspired by the classic Hollywood western The Magnificent Seven.

SMASH Star Wesley Taylor to Ascend to Heaven in AN ACT OF GOD in Denver

Denver Center for the Performing Arts Broadway/Cabaret announces today that Wesley Taylor, Broadway star and fan favorite in the NBC TV show 'Smash', will play God in the new comedy AN ACT OF GOD making its Denver debut at the Garner Galleria Theatre starting October 15.

TheatreWorks Brings Back the 70s with Fundraising Gala this November 12

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley announces the launch of the first ever Party of the Decade - an extraordinary evening of food, wine, dance, and an incredible benefit auction. For its inaugural event, TheatreWorks will revisit the decade of its founding: the 1970s. A golden era for art, music, and culture, in the 1970s the world watched John Travolta strut his stuff to "Stayin' Alive," the Steve Miller band inspired San Franciscans to "Fly Like an Eagle," and in Palo Alto, a young Robert Kelley created a play for youth - the first step in creating the nationally acclaimed company known as TheatreWorks Silicon Valley. Remount of 'EMILIE' Set for WAM Theatre's Spring 2017 Season

Following hard on the heels of the opening of their critically acclaimed co-production of The Bakelite Masterpiece, WAM Theatre's Artistic Director, Kristen van Ginhoven has announced plans for the first event of the company's eighth season in 2017. A special event - a limited run remount of WAM's very successful 2013 production of Emilie: La Marquise Du Chatelet Defends Her Life Tonight, written by Lauren Gunderson and directed by van Ginhoven, will run from March 30-April 9, 2017, and be presented at Shakespeare & Company's Tina Packer Playhouse in Lenox. 

Hurricane Matthew Prompts Performance Cancellations at Dr. Phillips Center

Due to the impending impact of Hurricane Matthew, the Thursday, October 6 and Friday, October 7, 2016 evening performances of both The Illusionists - Live from Broadway and TheatreWorks Florida's production of Rock of Ages at Dr. Phillips Center have been cancelled.

Aurora Theatre Company Continues 25th Anniversary Season with SAFE HOUSE

Aurora Theatre Company presents the West Coast Premiere of Keith Josef Adkins'SAFE HOUSE. African-American Shakespeare Company Artistic Director L. Peter Callender, who appeared in the Aurora Theatre Company productions of "Master Harold…and the boys," Breakfast With Mugabe, The Soldier's Tale, and Permanent Collection, makes his Aurora directing debut with SAFE HOUSE, featuring Lance Gardner, David Everett Moore, Dawn L.
