On Monday, January 25th, New York Theatre Barn returns to the D-Lounge at the Daryl Roth Theater to present its monthly showcase for emerging writers and performers, celebrating the third year of the performance series (where it originated in 2007).

New York's premier play festival, the Summer Play Festival (SPF), is partnering with London's Donmar Warehouse for the sixth year in a row on an international playwriting program for emerging writers. The Donmar Warehouse / SPF Residency Program brings together professional theatre makers from the highly acclaimed Donmar to work with a selected SPF playwright in a focused collaboration of classroom experiments, workshops, and rehearsals, culminating in a full reading of their play. The writer will spend two weeks in London immersed in the local theatre scene, and exchanging ideas and techniques with professional artists. The Donmar staff will guide and support the writer throughout their time in London, offering them a unique insight into the dynamics and complexities of the British theatre industry.

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) will present the fifth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be presented by Eric Schaeffer of the Signature Theatre on Monday, November 30th from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lobby of The American Airlines Theater.

MAN underdog presents 'The Temperamentals' by Jon Marans, Off Broadway at The Barrow Group Studio Theater, 312 West 36 Street 3rd Floor. Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presents a new Broadway production of The Philanthropist starringMatthew Broderick, Jonathan Cake, Anna Madeley and Steven Weber. The Philanthropist, by Christopher Hampton, is directed by David Grindley at the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street). Tony Award winning stage and screen star Kristin Chenoweth's new book, 'A Little Bit Wicked' has made the New York Times' Bestseller List. Having just completed its first week of sales, Chenoweth's book has debuted in the 12th spot on the famed list.
