Natalie Douglas to Celebrate New Album Release at Birdland, 3/21

NATALIE DOUGLAS - the acclaimed vocalist hailed as "a true, true star" by BBC London, "sensational" by Time Out New York and "stirring" by The New York Daily News - will release her new long-awaited third album Human Heart on Friday, March 18. She will celebrate the new recording with a special concert at Birdland Jazz Club on Monday, March 21 at 7:00 PM. Human Heart is produced by Brian J. Nash with photography by Bill Westmoreland.

Berkeley Playhouse presents the world premiere of BRIDGES: A NEW MUSICAL, with lyrics and book by Cheryl L. Davis (2009 Writers' Guild Award winner and Daytime Emmy Award nominee for As the World Turns), composed by Douglas J. Cohen (2005 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lyrics for Off-Broadway's Children's Letters to God, Richard Rodgers Grants and the Gilman & Conzalez-Falla Theatre Foundation Award for Off-Broadway's No Way to Treat a Lady), and conceived by Founding Artistic Director Elizabeth McKoy (developer of new musical theatre works for Berkeley Playhouse including: Born And Raised, Bravado, and Just So Stories).

Richard Johnson to Bring One-Man Show to Gene Frankel Theatre

In celebration of Black History Month, actor/vocalist Richard Johnson will perform the premiere of his one man play, 'Pappy on Da Underground Railroad,' directed by Keith Allen, accompanied by musical director Terry Wallstein. Johnson is best known for his cabaret shows on the music of Nat King Cole and as a stylist of antique gospel music and Negro Spirituals. In the play-which ascends into soaring spiritual music-a 'conductor' the Underground Railroad educates and prepares a group of runaway slaves for their journey northward with him. He is met with the daunting challenge of selling freedom to men and women who don't believe freedom exists for them. Performances will be February 11 to 27 at Gene Frankel Theatre, 24 Bond Street, Manhattan.

Trinity Rep Actress Named 2015 Lunt-Fontanne Fellow

Trinity Rep resident actor Phyllis Kay was recently honored as a 2015 Lunt-Fontanne Fellow. One of only ten actors from across the country to receive the award, Kay represented Trinity Rep at an intensive master class this summer at Ten Chimneys, the National Historic Landmark estate of Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, located in Genesee Depot, Wisconsin.

Coyote Dancers to Pay Tribute to Dudley Williams, 10/23-25

Maher Benham and Coyote Dancers announce three evenings of works choreographed by Ms. Benham, and dedicated to her company's beloved teacher, mentor, and friend Dudley Williams (1938-2015).   The evening will feature the world premiere of Ms. Benham's 'A Song for Dudley,' along with Coyote repertory works, including 'Eight for Martha,' dedicated to Martha Graham, October 23-25 at the Martha Graham Studio Theatre.  The Coyote resident ensemble of 16 dancers will be joined by a distinguished roster of guests, most either past or current members of the Martha Graham Dance Company.   Presented by Maher Benham and Coyote Dancers in collaboration with Deborah Zall and Classic Contemporary Dance Heritage, Ltd.

THE GORGES MOTEL Begins Tonight at TBG Theatre

The Gorges Motel, an evening of short plays by authors including Gretchen Cryer, will have its world premiere on Wednesday, October 7th, for a limited engagement of seven performances only - tonight, October 7th and October 8th, 9th 10th, 14th, 15th and 16th at TBG Theatre at The Barrow Group Studios (312 West 36th Street 3rd Floor). The production is directed by Five Time Emmy Award winner Chris Goutman.
