The Four Tops, whose meteoric rise to fame began with their 1964 Motown hit 'Baby I Need Your Loving,' bring their soulful songs to The Orleans Showroom, May 7, 8 and 9.

Celebrating 50 years of Motown, the New Cardiff Theatre will close its production of DANCING IN THE STREETS on May 1st. The production began performances at the theatre on April 26th, for a limited engagement.

Erst vor kurzem begeisterte Ron Williams als Gaststar der Show „The Blues Brothers' im Deutschen Theater das Publikum. Mit der „Sweet Soul Music Revue' kehrt der Entertainer, Schauspieler, Moderator und Sänger nun im September für vier Abende zurück auf die Bühne im Theaterzelt in Fröttmaning. Und neben der Moderation des Abends übernimmt er in dieser großen Revue über die unvergessenen Stars des Soul-Sounds natürlich auch den Part von Ray Charles, dem er seit vielen Jahren mit dem gleichnamigen Musical ein eindrucksvolles Denkmal setzt.

Offering up greater variety, including more than 50 debuts from Sting to Wagnerian tenor John Treleaven, Ravinia Festival Chairperson Pamela B. Strobel and President and CEO Welz Kauffman today announced details of the 2010 season, including a Chicago Symphony Orchestra residency that celebrates major anniversaries of Mahler, Chopin, Schumann, Barber, Bernstein and Copland, as well as milestone birthdays of Music Director James Conlon, Christoph Eschenbach and Stephen Sondheim. The season, featuring 117 separate events, runs from June 3 through September 7.

Disco diva and Grammy Award winner, Thelma Houston, will once again grace the Teatro ZinZanni fabled spiegeltent as the legendary hostess from February 4 - May 16. She will appear in a new version of Hearts on Fire, a show that ran some eighteen months ago to great critical and audience acclaim, and which will span the celebratory month of March, which marks the Teatro ZinZanni's 10th anniversary in San Francisco

This week, we are taking a trip to the West End, analyzing the cast recordings of the two biggest new musical hits on the boards, both based on successful and very music-centric films, SISTER ACT and PRISCILLA: QUEEN OF THE DESERT, and both showcasing songs in a seriously 70s soul/funk/disco style. We will go from the soaring sonorous heights of Heaven to the dungeon-like depths of musical Hell with these two entries...

Due to an unexpected medical procedure for one of the members of the Four Tops, they will be unable to participate in the concert January 17th along with The Temptations.
