The Denver Center Theatre Co Closes THE HOUSE OF THE SPIRITS 10/23

THE HOUSE OF THE SPIRITS, an adaptation of Isabel Allende's epic novel written by award-winning playwright Caridad Svich, will play the Denver Center Theatre Company's Space Theatre September 17-October 23 (opening night Thursday, September 23.)

DCTC Extends THE 39 STEPS, Through 11/21

Following critical praise and thunderous audience response, the Denver Center Theatre Company's staging of the madcap Hitchcock spoof THE 39 STEPS has been extended by an additional week due to popular demand. The lightning-paced comedy, which became an instant hit with Denver audiences, is a hilarious send-up of Hitchcock's 1935 film noir thriller in which four actors deftly take on over 50 characters. THE 39 STEPS has been extended in the Ricketson Theatre through November 21. Tickets for the extension are on sale now, by calling 303.893.4100 or www.denvercenter.org.

Chrix Mixon to Play Dr. Martin Luther in WITTENBERG this Spring

THE PEARL THEATRE COMPANY (J.R. Sullivan, Artistic Director; Shira Beckerman, Managing Director) has announced that actor Chris Mixon, currently featured in the company's production of THE SNEEZE, will appear in the spring production of WITTENBERG as Dr. Martin Luther. WITTENBERG will be directed by J.R. Sullivan and run at New York City Center Stage II March 11 through April 17, 2011. Tickets are currently on sale.

DCPA's Fourth Wall Young Professional Group Welcomes New Members

In the theatre, the fourth wall is the term for the imaginary wall separating the audience from the world of a theatrical performance. Consistent with that tradition of breaking through the typical audience experience, the Denver Center's Fourth Wall group is a new generation of arts and culture lovers in their 20s and 30s seeking to engage more deeply in the themes and meaning of Denver Center shows.

Having put female audiences in Denver, Des Moines and Winnipeg in stitches over the past two years, the irrepressible comedy GIRLS ONLY will next debut in Charlotte, NC, playing the Stage Door Theater at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center May 7 through August 1, 2010. The Denver production of the show continues to play its regular schedule at Denver's Garner Galleria Theatre.

DCA Announces 2011 Broadway Season

Denver Center Attractions has announced a high-spirited season of Broadway hits headed to Denver. The 2011 season, generously supported by United Airlines and Vectra Bank, features hits straight from Broadway-including the 2009 Best Musical Tony Award winner BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize winner NEXT TO NORMAL.
