LA CAGE AUX FOLLES Opens 7/10 in LA

Broadway/L.A. has announced that the critically acclaimed production of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, winner of three 2010 Tony Awards®, including Best Revival of a Musical will play the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood for a limited 2 week engagement July 10 - 22, 2012.

END OF THE RAINBOW Puts New Block of Tickets on Sale Through Jan. 16, 2013

End of the Rainbow starring two-time Olivier Award-winner and Tony Award-nominee Tracie Bennett as Judy Garland, has put a new block of tickets on sale through January 6, 2013. The production is directed by Tony Award-winner Terry Johnson, and festuring music by Peter Quilter.

LA CAGE AUX FOLLES Comes to Detroit, 9/25-10/7

The critically acclaimed production of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES starring George Hamilton and Christopher Sieber will play in Detroit at the Fisher Theatre for two weeks only September 25 through October 7. The new, freshly reconceived LA CAGE won three 2010 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical and Best Director of a Musical (Terry Johnson).

EDUCATING RITA to Play Edinburgh Festival in August

Following a limited season at the Menier Chocolate Factory and a UK Tour Educating Rita, the Olivier Award-winning comedy by Willy Russell, will play at the Assembly George Square Theatre this summer from Wednesday 1st - Sunday 26th August 2012 as part of the 2012 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Claire Sweeney plays Rita and Matthew Kelly is Dr Frank Bryant in a production directed by Tamara Harvey.

SEMINAR's Jeff Goldblum, END OF THE RAINBOW's Tracie Bennett and More Set for Center Theatre Group's 2012-13 Ahmanson Season!

The 2012-2013 Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre season was announced today by CTG Artistic Director Michael Ritchie. The new season, the 46th season at the Music Center of Los Angeles, will include Jeff Goldblum in the West Coast premiere of the smart, sexy, new Broadway comedy "Seminar," Rachel York in the beloved 1930s musical romp - Cole Porter's "Anything Goes," the American premiere and pre-Broadway presentation of the dramatic musical "Backbeat" which features classic rock 'n' roll in its story of the birth of the Beatles, Tracie Bennett starring as the iconic Judy Garland in the West Coast premiere of the acclaimed play with music - "End of the Rainbow," and the daring new musical that explores a shocking event in American history - Kander and Ebb's "The Scottsboro Boys." In addition, the exuberant musical "Fela!" will return for a limited engagement as a bonus option to the season subscription.

2012 Tony Omissions - What Potential Nominees Were Overlooked?

Review - End Of The Rainbow: Clang! Clang! Clang! Went The Subtext

If energy and physical commitment equaled craft and technique, Tracie Bennett's performance as Judy Garland in End Of The Rainbow might be considered one of the great triumphs of the season. But Peter Quilter's flimsy play offers her little in the way of support and director Terry Johnson has her playing more highly strung caricature than character, reducing the enterprise to little more than an endurance test for those at both sides of the footlights.
