Weinstein Brothers Look to Disney to Promote NINE

Variety reports that Harvey and Bob Weinstein of the Weinstein Company have turned to an old friend to help promote their new film, 'Nine,' set for a limited release on December 18. Disney is the parent company of Miramax Films, which was founded and once operated by the Weinstein Brothers. Once upon a time, the split was nasty.

Andrea Martin to Hold Dramatic Reading for TD Canadian Children’s Book Week, 11/22

On Sunday, November 22nd, Tony Award winner and Broadway star Andrea Martin will be live in the National Arts Centre Theatre in Ottawa to read aloud Mordecai Richler's classic children's story, 'Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang' for one special afternoon. The reading, abridged by David S. Craig and presented in association with TD Canadian Children's Book Week, is part of the NAC English Theatre's Family 3 series. An exciting event for families, as parents will take pleasure as they watch their children enthralled with Ms. Martin exciting reading as young Jacob is brought to life.
'Nine' Soundtrack Available in Stores 12/22

The upcoming film adapation of Maury Yeston and Arthur Kopit's 'Nine' will be available for purchase beginning December 22nd. The soundtrack, to be released by Geffen Records, will include the full score with the addition of three new songs written specifically for the film, entitled 'Guarda la Luna', 'Cinema Italiano' and 'Take It All'.

Broadway Across America (John Gore, Thomas B. McGrath, Beth Williams), Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Candy Spelling and The Weinstein Company will present the first-ever Broadway revival of PROMISES, PROMISES this spring at the Broadway Theater (1681 Broadway). Previews will begin on Sunday, March 28th, 2010 with an opening night slated for Sunday, April 25th, 2010. The musical is written by legends Neil Simon (book), Burt Bacharach (music), and Hal David (lyrics). Emmy Award winner Sean Hayes will make his Broadway debut starring in the role of Chuck Baxter opposite Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, returning to Broadway as Fran Kubelik. Tony and Emmy Award winner Rob Ashford will also make his Broadway directorial debut and choreograph. More casting and creative team members will be announced in the near future.

Rarely seen home movies shot by and featuring Hollywood legends such as Marlon Brando, Gene Kelly, Sophia Loren and Natalie Wood will screen during the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' presentation of 'Hollywood Home Movies II: Treasures from the Academy Film Archive' on Saturday, October 17, at 7 p.m. at the Academy's Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood. This event is sold out, but standby tickets may become available.
