The new cast of Broadway's hottest comedy, the Tony Award-winning Best Play, GOD OF CARNAGE will star Tony nominee Dylan Baker (Mauritius) as ‘Alan,' original Broadway cast member and Tony nominee Jeff Daniels as ‘Michael,' Emmy nominee Lucy Liu (Charlie's Angels) as ‘Annette,' and Tony winner Janet McTeer (original cast member of West End production of God of Carnage) as ‘Veronica,' beginning Tuesday, March 2. GOD OF CARNAGE plays at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

David Hirson was born in New York City and was educated at Yale and Oxford. He is the author of two plays for the theatre, La Bête (1991) and Wrong Mountain (2000), both of which have been produced on Broadway. He has received numerous honours for his work, including the 1992 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy. The original Broadway production of La Bête was nominated for five Tony awards in 1991. A collected edition of his plays is published by Grove Press. He is currently working on a new version of Die Fledermaus for the Metropolitan Opera.

The Guthrie Theater continues its exciting 2009-10 season with Kneehigh Theatre's groundbreaking production of Noël Coward's Brief Encounter, adapted for the stage by Kneehigh Artistic Director Emma Rice.

Ken Stott returns to GOD OF CARNAGE after creating the role of 'Michael' in the West End production. Stott is appearing with the support of Actors' Equity Association. The producers gratefully acknowledge Actors' Equity Association for its assistance of this production.

The current cast of GOD OF CARNAGE includes Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winner Christine Lahti Christine Lahti ('Chicago Hope') as 'Veronica,' Emmy and Golden Globe-nominee Annie Potts ('Designing Women') as 'Annette,' Emmy and Golden Globe-winner Jimmy Smits ('The West Wing') as 'Alan,' and Olivier Award-nominee Ken Stott as 'Michael' to the cast.

GOD OF CARNAGE is a comedy of manners without the manners. The play deals with the aftermath of a playground altercation between two boys and what happens when their parents meet to talk about it.

The 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony was simulcast live on TNT and TBS from the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT), 7 p.m. (CT) and 6 p.m. (MT). An encore presentation will air on TNT at 11 p.m. (ET/PT).
