BROADWAY BARKS announces their 16th annual star-studded dog and cat adoption event featuring celebrities from the hottest shows on Broadway to benefit New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. Founded by Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters, the event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will take place on Saturday, July 12 in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:00 p.m. where you can meet all the adoptable dogs and cats; celebrity presentations of pets from animal shelters citywide will take place between 5-6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The World Premiere of Lucas Kavner's (Fish Eye with Colt Coeur/HERE Arts Center; Love Money at Ars Nova) Carnival Kids, directed by Stephen Brackett and presented by Lesser America, opened at the TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue) on Monday, June 9th. Anyone who has yet made it to the Imperial Theatre to see the new revival of Les Miserables is well aware of Ramin Karimloo's killer body. In a recent interview with the NY Post, Karimloo revealed the work that went behind achieving his Valjean physique.
He told NYP: 'Hugo says Jean Valjean was a man of medium height, broad-shouldered, robust and in the prime of his life,' Karimloo says. ' Whatever he did to keep himself fit and strong - and I'm sure he wasn't doing yoga in prison! - he had the wherewithal. So I thought, 'I'll start getting in shape.'
