WICKED, the long-running hit musical at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre, is pleased to announce its entire new company to begin performances on Monday 7 February 2011: Joining the previously announced Mark Evans (Fiyero) are: Zoe Rainey ('Amber Von Tussle' in Hairspray at the Shaftesbury Theatre) as Nessarose, Ben Stott ('Jack' in Sondheim's Into The Woods at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park) as Boq, and Chloe Taylor(WICKED, 2009) as Standby Glinda.

Barter Theatre announced the winners of the 9th Annual Young Playwrights Festival (YPF), Monday, Nov. 8, 2010. Winners were chosen from twelve area high schools, with more than 180 students participating in this year's festival.

Two outdoor film screenings in July will officially launch newportFILM, a new organization that will bring film and filmmakers to the area and create a richer experience of the medium for Newport residents and visitors. On Friday, July 23, newportFILM will host an outdoor screening at the International Tennis Hall of Fame of Sam Taylor-Wood's Nowhere Boy, a feature debut that imagines the formative years of John Lennon. On Wednesday, July 28, a screening of No Impact Man will be hosted at Sweet Berry Farm; attendees will have an opportunity to watch a documentary that follows New Yorker Colin Beavan and his family as they attempt to minimize their environmental footprint by living off the grid in the middle of New York City, and to meet Beavan and his family.

Broadway Across America (John Gore, Thomas B. McGrath, Beth Williams), Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Candy Spelling and The Weinstein Company will present the first-ever Broadway revival of PROMISES, PROMISES this spring at the Broadway Theater (1681 Broadway). Previews will begin on Sunday, March 28th, 2010 with an opening night slated for Sunday, April 25th, 2010. The musical is written by legends Neil Simon (book), Burt Bacharach (music), and Hal David (lyrics). Emmy Award winner Sean Hayes will make his Broadway debut starring in the role of Chuck Baxter opposite Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, returning to Broadway as Fran Kubelik. Tony and Emmy Award winner Rob Ashford will also make his Broadway directorial debut and choreograph. More casting and creative team members will be announced in the near future.
