The Recording Academy® announced its Special Merit Awards recipients today, and this year's group includes: Julie Andrews, Roy Haynes, Juilliard String Quartet, The Kingston Trio, Dolly Parton, Ramones, and George Beverly Shea as Lifetime Achievement Award honorees; Al Bell, Wilma Cozart Fine and Bruce Lundvall as Trustees Award honorees; and Roger Linn and Waves Audio as Technical GRAMMY Award® honorees. The special invitation-only ceremony will be held during GRAMMY® Week on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, and a formal acknowledgment will be made during the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast, which will be held at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, and broadcast live at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the CBS Television Network.

The Dave Koz & Friends 2010 Smooth Jazz Christmas tour will be extra-special this year as South African singer/guitarist Jonathan Butler, keyboardist Brian Culbertson, and Dutch saxophone star Candy Dulfer join the multi-GRAMMY® nominee and saxophonist extraordinaire in celebrating the joys of the season. This is Dulfer's first tour with Koz, while favorites Butler and Culbertson are back by popular demand. The tour has become a cherished tradition for fans, and 2010 marks its 13th anniversary. The foursome will perform hits from their respective catalogues and join together on a variety of holiday standards for a high-energy, soul-inspiring show the whole family will love.

The holiday season at PlayhouseSquare wouldn't be official without the annual visit from Dave Koz, his friends and A Smooth Jazz Christmas 2010. December 3rd at 7:30 pm, in PlayhouseSquare's Palace Theatre, saxman extraordinaire Koz will be joined by fellow smooth jazz artists: Jonathan Butler (singer/songwriter/guitarist); Brian Culbertson (keyboards/trombone); and Candy Dulfer (alto sax). This talent-times-four is set to entertain with a catalog of their individual hits, plus songs of the season (and maybe a few surprise musical collaborations!).

Tony- and Emmy award-winning actress Cherry Jones joins Keith Lockhart, the Boston Pops, and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, and special guests-actors Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, and Ed Harris-for the world premiere performance of The Dream Lives On: A Portrait of the Kennedy Brothers-the centerpiece of the Boston Pops' 125th anniversary season celebration-on May 18, at 8 p.m. (repeated on May 19), at Symphony Hall in Boston, MA. Cherry Jones, who can currently be seen in the hit TV show 24 as President Allison Taylor, has appeared in Oceans Twelve, The Village, Signs, and Cradle Will Rock, and in guest appearances on television shows including 'The West Wing' and 'Frasier.' Ms. Jones won Tony awards in 1995 for her leading role in The Heiress and in 2005 for her leading role in Doubt, and won an Emmy award in 2009 for her role in 24. The world premiere performances of The Dream Lives On are the centerpiece of the Boston Pops 125th anniversary season, May 4-June 20.

The Boston Pops world premiere of The Dream Lives On: A Portrait of the Kennedy Brothers, which will take place at Boston's Symphony Hall on May 18 and 19, is set to receive a live audio recording for later release. The event will also be documented in a video exclusive, featuring interviews with composer Peter Boyer, lyricist Lynn Ahrens, and conductor Keith Lockhart, as well as excerpts from the show itself.
