13TH ARRONDISSEMENT OF PARIS Runs 2/13 - 3/15 At The Horizon Theatre Company

The 13th Arrondissement of Paris by Mat Smart (directed by Lisa Adler) will be performed at the Horizon Theatre Company from February 13 - March 15, 2009.Three couples in search of their perfect love! In this charming and theatrical romantic comedy, 28-year old Vincent is in love with his girlfriend, Annie. They?re committed and comfortable and Vincent can?t imagine spending his life with anyone else. And yet ... his worry sends him on an impulsive visit to his late grandparents? apartment in the 13th Arrondissement of Paris, carrying only a suitcase of their surprising love letters in hopes of discovering something about his own love. Now in its 25th season, Horizon Theatre Company has been bringing exciting area and world premieres of contemporary plays to Atlanta's audiences under the leadership of Co-Artistic Directors and Founders Lisa and Jeff Adler since 1983. A professional theatre with a reputation for excellent ensemble acting, Horizon produces outstanding new plays by today's playwrights that reflect and challenge the lives of the diverse people living in the urban Southeast. The Magic Theater in San Francisco, a 42-year-old institution that has staged the premieres of works by Sam Shepard, David Mamet, Nilo Cruz and many others, may be on the verge of closing unless the company can raise $350,000 by Midnight, Monday January 12th. The theater's Web site, magictheatre.org is urging audience members to help it survive.

Actor Many Beth Fisher Named One of Eleven Inaugural Fellows

Ten Chimneys Foundation, the National Historic Landmark estate of Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, has chosen Mary Beth Fisher as one of its eleven inaugural fellows to participate in the LUNT-FONTANNE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM, a groundbreaking national program to serve regional theater actors and the future of American Theater. Fisher, who was nominated by Goodman Theatre, will receive a cash fellowship and participate in an intensive week-long master class and retreat at Ten Chimneys with a world-renowned and respected master teacher; acclaimed actress Lynn Redgrave will be the first master teacher in the Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship Program. In addition to a prolific, award-winning career on Broadway, in London, and in film and television, Ms. Redgrave was named in honor of Lynn Fontanne - making her a particularly meaningful choice to launch this important program.

Weller's 'Fifty Words' with Marvel and Butz Extends Through 11/8

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) today announced that their World Premiere Production of Michael Weller's Fifty Words, under the direction of Austin Pendleton, has been extended Off Broadway. Performances of the two-character play began at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on September 10 and the show's stars Norbert Leo Butz and Elizabeth Marvel were showered with rave reviews following its October 1 opening. The show is now scheduled to run through Saturday, November 8.
