First up is First Night: The Tony Concert, to be presented by Keeping Scores Concerts at Franklin's Boiler Room Theatre on Monday, June 6, at 7:30 p.m. Featuring some of Nashville's biggest and brightest theater stars performing songs from Tony Award-winning musicals, the concert serves as the kick-off of the 2011 First Night Season in Nashville, culminating with First Night, The Nashville Theatre Honors, which will be presented at Belmont University's Troutt Theatre on Sunday, September 4.

Since his arrival in Nashville, talented Jeffrey Williams has made quite the name for himself on local stages, winning over directors, producers, other actors, audience members and critics alike with his charm, dedication and remarkable talent. Seriously, he's got the goods and Nashville theater has claimed its fair share (most recently, he's been seen in Street Theatre Company's acclaimed staging of Chess in Concert, in which he sang the role of the spoiled American chess champion, and in Tennessee Repertory Theatre's hit revival of Pump Boys and Dinettes, in which he tap-danced, played an accordion and sang his heart out, surrounded by a cast of Tennessee Rep veterans), it would seem, and now young Mr. Williams is heading northeastward to check things out in New York City.

Anchorage Community Theatre will finish its 2010-2011 season with the riotous 1982 musical comedy Pump Boys and Dinettes, written by John Foley, Mary Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann. Directed by Wayne Mitchell, the show will run from April 29 to May 22. The cast will be announced soon.

Ground UP Productions presents Oscar Wilde's THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST at the Summit Playhouse in Summit, New Jersey. Performances of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST run May 20 through June 5, 2011. Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday @ 8:00pm, Sunday @ 2:00pm.

Shakespeare meets the Hatfields and the McCoys this summer in Tennessee Shakespeare Festival's family-friendly The Comedy of Errors, running June 17-July 10 in Bell Buckle on the campus of the Webb School. Tennessee Shakespeare Festival's latest production, The Comedy of Errors - described as 'a rollicking version of William Shakespeare's madcap tale of mistaken identity, set in the highlands of 1880s West Virginia.'

New York City's Ground UP Productions and The Summit Playhouse of Summit, NJ announce a thrilling, first-time-ever endeavor this Spring in The Garden State! After much planning, Summit Playhouse is graciously welcoming Ground UP and will host Ground UP's production of The Importance of Being Earnest, from May 20 to June 5, 2011.(Opening night: Saturday, May 21 at 8pm)

Over the years, Rene Dunshee Copeland, Pam Atha and Martha Wilkinson have collaborated numerous times on all sorts of musicals - and among them, they have garnered the lion's share of First Night Awards presented for achievement in musical theater in Nashville - and so it's pretty damn exciting for the three of them (along with musical director Paul Carrol Binkley) to be on-board for Tennessee Repertory Theatre's Pump Boys and Dinettes, which brings the company's 2010-11 season to a riotous, rip-roaring close!

CAPA, Broadway Across America, and producers Thomas Schumacher of Disney Theatrical Productions and Cameron Mackintosh are pleased to announce full casting for the Columbus engagement of MARY POPPINS. Columbus' most eagerly anticipated stage production will begin performances at the Ohio Theatre on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, for a limited engagement of three weeks through Sunday, May 8, 2011. Opening night is Thursday, April 21, at 7:30pm.
