The Dallas Opera is extremely pleased to announce a significant expansion of our educational programs, beginning in the summer of 2011. These programs are designed to underscore TDO's renewed commitment to educational excellence in the arts, both inside and outside the traditional opera house.

The Dallas Opera is proud to announce the eighteen artists from around the world who are vying for the prestigious "Maria Callas Debut Artist of the Year" Award to be announced at the annual Dallas Opera Board and Trustee Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, May 19th at 6:30 PM in the Crescent Ballroom of the Rosewood Crescent Hotel, 400 Crescent Court in Uptown Dallas.

One of the earliest operas, written in the 1640s, Monteverdi's The Coronation of Poppea, is to get a fresh treatment by Mark Ravenhill and Alex Silverman, with a new jazz-inspired orchestration, and featuring a cast of exciting singing talents. It will premiere as part of the Little Opera House's first ever repertory season, with 10 performances from Tuesday April 5 to Thursday May 19.
