The Award-winning Broadway musical Mary Poppins and ADVENTURES BY DISNEY, a leader in guided family vacations, partnered to celebrate the show's historic 1000th performance at the New Amsterdam Theatre on Thursday April 9th. To a shower of confetti following the curtain call, the Moore family of Marlboro, NJ were brought on stage, visibly moved, as Thomas Schumacher, producer and president of Disney Theatrical Productions, presented them with a 6-night/7-day vacation to London and Paris.

Legally Blonde's Bailey Hanks has just been cast to appear on two episodes of the hit CBS soap opera, Guiding Light. Hanks will appear as Amy, the Governor's daugher on episodes scheduled to shoot next week and air April 8-9, 2009.

Emmy and Tony Award winner Tyne Daly, most recently on Broadway in the Pulitzer Prize-winning Rabbit Hole, will preview her upcoming cabaret evening on Sunday, April 26, as a benefit for Abingdon Theatre Company. Joined by musical director/accompanist John McDaniel, this special performance will precede her debut May 12-16 at Feinstein's at Loews Regency. The demand for tickets have left only a few remaining for her first cabaret performance.

Sony Masterworks announced the upcoming release of the New Broadway Cast Recording of West Side Story. The recording will be available nationwide on June 2, 2009. The official opening of West Side Story, which took place at the Palace Theatre in New York City on Thursday, March 19, 2009, has been greeted with great critical acclaim and sold-out performances. The opening followed a pre-Broadway engagement at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C., where the musical made its original world premiere in 1957. The talented and dynamic West Side Story cast headed to Manhattan's Clinton Studios on Monday April 6th to take part in the historic recording of the classic score. BroadwayWorld's cameras joined them as they brought the glorious music to life!
