Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director, Stephen Eich, Executive Director, Tom Ware, Producing Director) today announced full casting for the West Coast Premiere of THE NIGHT IS A CHILD, a new play by Charles Randolph-Wright. Sheldon Epps (Pasadena Playhouse Artistic Director), who directed Pasadena Playhouse's production of Ray Charles Live!, directs a cast of six led by JoBeth Williams (The Big Chill and Poltergeist). Preview performances begin August 28 with the official press opening set for Friday, September 4 at Pasadena Playhouse (39 South El Molino Avenue, Pasadena).

Producers Angelo Fraboni and Daryl Roth present the New York premiere of Vigil, written by Morris Panych and directed by Stephen DiMenna, began performances Sunday, September 20, at 3pm at the DR2 Theatre, 103 East 15 Street, east of Union Square. The opening night was celebrated on Tuesday, September 29 at 7pm.

Charles Busch To Host 'A Place At The Table' Benefit 10/5, Wainwright To Perform

Famed Actor, Writer and Dramatist Charles Busch will serve as Host of A Place at the Table, a benefit evening set for Monday, October 5th, at The Chelsea Art Museum (556 West 22nd Street). The 2nd annual fall event will benefit New York's Ali Forney Center. As previously announced, Grammy nominated singer and songwriter Rufus Wainwright will give a special solo performance.

LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's initiative devoted to producing work of new playwrights, directors and designers, has announced that Opal Alladin, Mia Barron, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Lynn Hawley, Ronete Levenson and Ellen Parker will be featured in its world premiere production of WHAT ONCE WE FELT, a new play by Ann Marie Healy, directed by Ken Rus Schmoll, the first of LCT3's three productions during the 2009-2010 season.
