CUNY TV is set to broadcast an extended version of their interview with actresses Harriet Walter and Janet McTeer discussing Mary Stuart, the historical drama (closing on Broadway August 16th) about the struggle between Queen Elizabeth I and Mary, Queen of Scots, two of the most formidable women of British history.

Kerry O'Malley played her first performance as Mum in BILLY ELLIOT on Tuesday July 28th. O'Malley steps in for Leah Hocking, who originated the role for 6 weeks while Hocking is away from the show.

Since its world premiere in May 2005 at the Victoria Palace Theatre in the West End, Billy Elliot the Musical has played to over 3.5 million people worldwide including HM The Queen, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Hilary Clinton, Bill Gates, Hugh Jackman, Michael Jackson, Nicole Kidman, Ben Stiller and Anna Wintour.

Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions in association with Weinstein Live Entertainment announced today that the 2009 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Billy Elliot the Musical, featuring music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry, will launch a U.S. national tour with an extended run in Chicago in the spring of 2010 before embarking on a multi-city tour. Performances will begin March 2010 at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre (24 West Randolph, Chicago). Additional cities, dates and casting will be announced at a later date.

The Donmar Warehouse production of Friedrich Schiller's MARY STUART, starring Janet McTeer as Mary, Queen of Scots and Harriet Walter as Elizabeth I, in a new version by Peter Oswald and directed by Phyllida Lloyd is now in the final four weeks of its limited run on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). The critically acclaimed production plays through Sunday, August 16 only.

SpongeBob SquarePants was celebrating his 10th Anniversary in Times Square yesterday, Wednesday July 15th and as part of the celebration, he came by the Imperial Theatre to meet the 'kids' of BILLY ELLIOT. Trent Kowalik and Tommy Batchelor met SpongeBob along with many of the talented kids in the cast (along with some adult SpongeBob fans too!).

Nominations in 27 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 63rd Annual Antoinette Perry 'Tony' Awards were announced by Tony Award Winners Cynthia Nixon and Lin-Manuel Miranda from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

MARY STUART, the critically acclaimed Donmar Warehouse production, which is nominated for seven Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Play, Best Actress in a Play (Janet McTeer and Harriet Walter) and Best Director of a Play (Phyllida Lloyd), will be featured in the next few days on 'The Leonard Lopate Show,' 'Theater Talk' and 'NY1 On Stage.'

Michael Attenborough will direct the European premiere of Andrew Bovell's When the Rain Stops Falling which runs at the Almeida from 14 May - 4 July 2009 with press night on 21 May. Designs are by Miriam Buether with lighting by Colin Grenfell, music by Stephen Warbeck, sound by Paul Arditti and movement by Imogen Knight.

On 12 May 2009, as Billy Elliot the Musical celebrates its fourth birthday and its 1700th performance at the Victoria Palace Theatre in the West End, 12 year old Oliver Gardner from Bath will join the London cast making him the thirty-second boy to play the iconic role of Billy worldwide, first performed by Jamie Bell in the original film.
