The Drama Group's spring show will be "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings, March 16 to 31, at 8:00, in Pilling Hall at The First United Methodist Church of Germantown, 6001 Germantown Avenue, between High Street and Walnut Lane.

Sonoma State University Department of Theatre Arts & Dance today announced LOOT, which is being described as 'Oscar Wilde meets Monty Python in this outrageous, hilarious romp of a whodunit as seen through the jaded eyes of mid-20th century English playwright Joe Orton. This greedy, sexy, tawdry (yet stylish) comic masterpiece goes to the next level when religious fervor and a deceased mother become cover-ups for a bank heist gone wrong. Throw in an inept detective and you have a classic satirical critique of the bourgeoisie.'
Luna Negra Dance Theater to Present CARMEN.maquia, 3/24

Luna Negra Dance Theater continues its season this spring with a World Premiere by Artistic Director Gustavo Ramirez Sansano titled CARMEN.maquia, a Picasso-inspired, contemporary take on the famous, fiery and flirtatious Spanish gypsy, Carmen. This work marks Luna Negra's first-ever full evening-length production and is a creative collaboration between three prize-winning artists: choreographer Sansano, Spanish fashion designer David Delfin and set designer Luis Crespo. Luna Negra presents CARMEN.maquia in one performance only at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph Drive, Saturday, March 24 at 8 pm.

Due to the unexpected weather cancellation of yesterday's performance and audience demand, Arvada Center Artistic Producer, Rod A. Lansberry has announced the addition of two Sunday evening shows for The Importance of Being Earnest. The additional shows are Sunday, February 12 at 7:30pm and Sunday, February 19 at 7:30pm. The latter will be the final performance of the run.

After record-setting attendance during the 34th annual 2011 performances of A Christmas Carol at Theatre Memphis, Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest opens on the Lohrey Stage on January 27, 2012, and runs through February 12, 2012. There is much excitement by Theatre Memphis that the world's most popular comedy of manners will be as well received as the prior 2011-12 season offerings and will contribute to the continuing tickets sales increases that Theatre Memphis has experienced so far this season.
