American Theater Company (ATC) announces the second year of AracaWorks: Chicago, a new play development workshop in partnership with New York's The Araca Group, Broadway producers of Disgraced, Urinetown, Frankie and Johnny in the Claire de Lune, The Wedding Singer, Lend Me a Tenor, and A View from the Bridge. AracaWorks: Chicago emerged from a collaboration that led to the development of Disgraced by Ayad Akhtar, which received the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a 2015 Tony Award nomination for Best Play. The program gives three playwrights a weeklong development opportunity at ATC, culminating in a weekend of private readings-with one of the three plays selected to receive a year of development attention.

The Huntington Theatre Company will open its 2015-2016 season with the Tony Award-winning musical A Little Night Music, Stephen Sondheim's most romantic and popular work. Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois (after all the terrible things I do; Smart People; Rapture, Blister, Burn; and Becky Shaw) will direct. Performances will run September 11 - October 11, 2015 at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre.

Vassar and New York Stage and Film's Powerhouse Theater is now presenting its 31st year of championing new works, with a full season of stories that take audiences from a South Sea island to center court at the US Open and beyond. Beth Dixon and Carter Hudson star in the mainstage production The Unbuilt City by Keith Bunin and directed by Tony-nominee Sean Mathias (now through July 12).

Actors' Theatre has announced the first script workshop for the 2015-2016 season! This coming July, Actors' will be hosting nationally-recognized playwright, actress, and author Betsy Howie for a two week script workshop of her latest work, Stella Remembered. Betsy will be joined by Emmy Award-winning screenwriter/producer Rodney Vaccaro as director, actors Joyce Bean, Lynne Brown-Tepper, Neil Patrick Trevisan, Ruth Ann Molenaar and Kyle Los, and producer Kathy Keehn. For eight days the team will read and work through the script allowing Betsy to make revisions. On July 23 and 24 there will be public staged readings.
