A limited number of $30 tickets (plus a $2 facility fee) will be available at the box office only, on the day of the performance, beginning when the box office opens for the day. The 2011 Garland Award recipients were announced today, honoring the best of Los Angeles theatre. Under the voting system each Garland winner was named on at least three critics' 'Best of 2010' lists. Each critic listed up to five nominees for each category except performance, up to 10 nominees for performance in musical productions and 10 for straight plays. It isn't just Curtis Moore's action-accenting electric guitar licks that give Richard Thomas a rock star presence in director Barry Edelstein's swift and rowdy production of Timon of Athens, a stinging morality tale attributed as a collaboration of sorts between William Shakespeare and the younger scribe, Thomas Middleton.  Though scholars will call the piece incomplete and problematic, the star gives a charismatic performance that glides through the rough patches.

Tickets go on sale this Saturday, February 12 at 12:01am for the first ever Broadway production of Neil LaBute's FAT PIG at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street), starring comedy superstar and actor Dane Cook, stage, film, and television actor Josh Hamilton, stage and screen star Julia Stiles and introducing Heather Jane Rolff. LaBute will make his Broadway directorial debut with the play, which begins performances Tuesday, April 12, 2011 for an official opening night of Tuesday, April 26, 2011.
